WHO IS RECFISHING RESEARCH?

Recfishing Research is a national Subprogram for the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation, established to guide investment in national Research, Development and Extension (RDE) addressing key priorities of the recreational fishing community. Importantly, Recfishing Research also plays an important role in communicating research results to the recreational fishing community.

Recfishing Research’s steering committee is made up of 10 individuals from the recreational fishing community around Australia who offer expertise in social and biological sciences, economics, advocacy, fisheries management, and R&D project management.

Cameron Westaway

Cameron has over 20 years experience in fisheries management including commercial aquaculture, aquaculture extension and development, fisheries advisor to WA Minister, agricultural business development, inland recreational fisheries management, marine park management and commercial abalone management in NSW. Currently responsible for overall management of NSW freshwater recreational fisheries as well as management of the commercial abalone fishery.
