WHO IS RECFISHING RESEARCH?

Recfishing Research is a national Subprogram for the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation, established to guide investment in national Research, Development and Extension (RDE) addressing key priorities of the recreational fishing community. Importantly, Recfishing Research also plays an important role in communicating research results to the recreational fishing community.

Recfishing Research’s steering committee is made up of 10 individuals from the recreational fishing community around Australia who offer expertise in social and biological sciences, economics, advocacy, fisheries management, and R&D project management.

Peter Neville - Chair

Peter is the principal of P.J.Neville & Associates, a consultancy firm dealing with natural resource management and inter Governmental/industry policy and strategic management issues. Peter was formally the Deputy Director-General of the Queensland Department of Primary Industries and its Director of Fisheries until his retirement in 2006. He has also served as the Chair of the FRDC and is currently Chair of Southmac of the AFMA. Peter has conducted fisheries consultancies across most States.
